Tennis Now Part of Ross LS Wellness Curriculum

LS-Tennis-Blog Already known for its Tennis Academy, powerhouse JV and Varsity teams, and the renowned pros, coaches, and staff at the Tennis Center, Ross School has extended this excellence to the Lower School, with Tennis now part of the pre-kindergarten through grade 3 Wellness curriculum.

“The students now take tennis lessons at the Lower School Field House every Tuesday, and it has been a huge success. The mental and physical aspects of the sport can be a tremendous benefit to the children in their formative years,” said Vinicius Carmo, Ross Tennis program director.

He added that the faculty, coaches, and staff are grateful to the Lower School Parents Association for sponsoring the program for the school year, making this wonderful opportunity possible for the students.

The Lower School offers an ideal setting for such a program, exposing students to tennis at an early age in the nurturing Ross environment. Joao Casagrande and Pedro Davisson, tennis pros at the Ross Tennis Center, are teaching the lessons, and loving the experience. “We already see the marked improvement in the students’ skills, and most important, we have more children interested in playing tennis,” Joao said.

Ross also offers the Jump Start and Junior Development Program during after-school hours at the Tennis Center for children in pre-kindergarten through grade 6.
