Ross faculty, staff, students, and alumni achieve many accomplishments throughout the year, both on and off campus. To kick off 2014, we’re recognizing students Emma Engel, Lily Pahud de Mortanges, Bella Pan, and Iris Tong; and faculty and staff Jennifer Chidsey, Sheryl Hastalis, and Ned Smyth.
On January 19, Wellness and fitness teacher Sheryl Hastalis and Jazz/Hip Hop students Emma Engel, Lily Pahud de Mortanges, Bella Pan, and Iris Tong spent the day at the Broadway Dance Center, the nation’s premier school for contemporary dance technique. Sheryl says it was a fun and inspiring experience for all!
The artwork of Ross Visual Arts teacher Ned Smyth continues to delight international art critics, and recently his sculptures were favorably reviewed in the The New York Times and Hyland Magazine. Ned’s art is currently showing in Manhattan at the Salomon Contemporary, and at the Mixed Greens and Pavel Zoubok galleries in the “Hooray for Hollywood!” exhibition.
In early January, Chief Education Officer Jennifer Chidsey was named to the Medina City School District Hall of Fame in Ohio. The purpose of the hall of fame is to recognize and honor Medina High School graduates who have made important contributions and have provided extraordinary service to their communities and chosen fields.
