The Upper School campus is just a little bit safer now that the eighth grade has received their American Heart Association CPR and AED certifications. Karin Schroeder, dean of Wellness, taught the course in health class. The students learned about high-quality compressions, airway management, and breathing skills to treat adults and children, as well as how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). They also learned what to do when a victim 12 months or older is choking. The certifications, which last for two years, could help them get summer camp or babysitting jobs.
