Grades 6–8 Winter Concert

On February 12, a medley of music filled the Court Theater during the Winter Concert put on by grades 6, 7, and 8.

The String Orchestra performed “Indian Dance” and “Fugue on a Ukrainian Bell Carol,” followed by a piano interlude featuring seventh grader Tristan Griffin playing Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words, Op. 19, “No.3” and “No. 6.” Next, the Chorus sang an African American spiritual titled “Keep Your Lamps!” as well as Songs of Youth: “When?” and “Now!”

Guests also enjoyed Bach: Three Chorales and “Rocky Mountain Romp” from the Concert Band. Finally, the members of Stage Band concluded the evening with Herbie Hancock’s “Cantaloupe Island.”
